Throughout 2025 the National Plant Monitoring Scheme celebrated its 10th anniversary, an exciting and significant milestone for the scheme signalling that the hard work of NPMS volunteers and supporters is truly paying off.
This year saw another round of detailed plant monitoring and survey work, resulting in over 240 1 km squares being visited (most twice), over 1,000 small plots with data and almost 17,000 plant records.
Our 2025 Annual Report demonstrates the commitment of both our many partners and volunteers involved in plant and habitat monitoring, containing a wide range of voices exploring how the NPMS has been working to provide inclusive and valuable habitat data to all. Other highlights include reviews of how NPMS plant data have been used to investigate the future climate vulnerability of our flora, new NPMS species indicator trends, the use of NPMS data in three separate government biodiversity indicators and much more on our volunteer engagement programme and anniversary celebrations. Enjoy!
