Many of our events are virtual and based on Zoom, as either a Webinar or a Virtual Meet Up. Our programme of live training webinars can be found via this link - training webinars.
The details for our Virtual meet ups, workshops and data surgeries, along with any scheduled face-to-face training are listed below with more to be added throughout the season. To book onto any of the events below (face to face or virtual meet ups and data surgeries), simply select "Book on to event", or visit the "My Events" page. This will allow you to select the event you want to book onto from the drop down list.
You will then receive an email notification confirming your booking. You can then view the events you are booked onto via the My Events page.
We have also developed a selection of online training materials that can be downloaded and viewed in your own time.

Habitat training event - Cultra, N. Ireland |

Ireland | Jo Mulholland, BSBI Training officer | Jo Mulholland will lead a walk introducing the habitats found within the grounds of the museum. The habitats we will be focussing on at the Ulster Folk Museum are roadsides, hedges, hedge banks, small areas of woodland and streams. Jo will also explain how to set up plots in these habitats | Packed lunch and suitable footwear are required.
A lunch break will be taken at 12.30pm.
There are toilets available around the site and a tearoom.

Chalk Grasslands species Workshop, Sussex |

The workshop will begin with a classroom session indoors, covering features used in species ID and a guided opportunity to examine specimens of species included on the NPMS Calcareous grassland indicator species list. Following lunch, the group will head out to use their new ID skills on the beautiful Wolstonbury Hill site, looking at indicator species and also some of the key species that make up the beautiful chalk grassland in the area. By the end of the workshop, you should be confident in the features you need to look at to identify a grass, as well as a sound knowledge of some of the most common grasses you will encounter. | Spaces are limited for this session, so booking is essential. NPMS Woodland Habitat training, Co. Antrim |

Sand dune species Workshop, Bridgend |

Plot creation and data entry workshop |

Focusing on creating your online plots, entering survey data, making edits to your survey forms and how to view your data. Perfect for volunteers that have conducted their first season of surveys and would now like pointers and support getting that important data submitted. Also for anyone that could use a refresher. This is being held as a Zoom workshop, so that we can cover your questions and provide examples. There will also be chance to ask any queries on navigating around the NPMS website, your account and square(s) information. | This is an online workshop via Zoom video call.
